2007 | Various interventions
Marcozero is an art project that investigates the urban space of Praça da Sé, a square in São Paolo, Brazil.
The first period of the project took space during October, November and December 2007 inside the art residency program of Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado – FAAP. It had the form of an artistic laboratory researching and interacting with the public sphere of Sé square. The project has stemmed from the collaboration of Italian and Brasilian artists which are interested in the socio-political and environmental issues related to urban spaces. Marcozero‘s proposal is to experiment with diverse ways of analysis and dialogue in order to cast light upon the complexities of the community in question.
The International Guerrilla Video Festival Dublin 2009 will be held 19-20 February in 3 unique areas of the city: Parnell Street, Rathmines and Talbot Street. Navigating the areas over the course of two days, the IGVFest will project works relating to the social conditions of the site on building facades, monuments and temporary structures. In this occasion will be presented “O Ambulantes” a video documentation from Projeto Marcozero by Katia Meneghini with Vera Uberti e Valentina Vetturi .
The International Guerrilla Video Festival (IGVFest) is a mobile festival integrating video art with the urban and social environment. The festival removes the technologically complex medium of video out of the institutional situation re-positioning it as open and reflexive in the public domain. The artworks have site-specific thematic relations to the space where they are shown, engaging and reflecting upon the unique architectural, historical, and interpersonal context of each area the festival travels to.
